JebChem 4067 – Polyether Modified Siloxane Copolymer

 JebChem 4067

JebChem 4067 is a polyether modified siloxane copolymer that promotes excellent substrate-wetting and anti-crater effect for both solvent-based and water-based coatings and printing inks.

By greatly reducing the surface tension of the system, it increases the wettability of the substrate, allowing it to spread more easily and effectively. It has a 100% active content, making it highly cost-efficient. This product has no influence on the recoatability of the substrate and does not cause slip effect, thus is an ideal substrate-wetting agent.

Evaluating Wetting Performance in Water-based Emulsion Resin

Roller Test in Styrene-acrylic emulsion paint

Table 1 shows the surface tension values of the emulsion resin in its blank state, after the incorporation of JebChem 4067, and that of Competitor 604. The value is at its lowest after the addition of our product, showing that JebChem 4067 can reduce the surface tension of the emulsion resin more than our competitor can.

Roller Test in Pure acrylic emulsion paint

Figure 1 shows the dynamic wetting performances of JebChem 4067 and Competitor 604, evaluated by applying wet paint on a wax- and silicone-coated substrate. Wax paper was used in the tests as substrates were difficult to coat with water due to the high contact angle. It was observed that JebChem 4067 provided a significantly more desirable wettability on wax paper as compared to the competitor.

Conclusion

JebChem 4067 exhibits substrate-wetting capabilities that are superior to our competitor. With a remarkable reduction of substrate surface tension, no slip effect, and compatibility with both solvent-based and water-based formulations, JebChem 4067 is an excellent substrate-wetting agent for coatings and printing inks.
